PORT ST. LUCIE — A planned trick on a friend involving a bag of parsley turned into an arrest for a 15-year-old local boy, according to a police report released Monday.
The 15-year-old boy and a 13-year-old boy told police Friday morning they were headed to another friend’s home. At the time, they were walking across Crosstown Parkway during school hours.
The elder boy said he was going to play a trick on his friend. He said he had a bag of parsley that he was going to make his friend think was marijuana. The parsley, which he got from his kitchen cabinet, was in a clear plastic bag and appeared similar to pot.
The last time the boy smoked marijuana allegedly was the day before.
The 15-year-old boy was arrested on a charge of possession of a counterfeit controlled substance with the intent to deliver.
Because we all know that parsley is a gateway substance that leads to harder herbs, like basil and oregano… not to mention rosemary.
In any case, that’ll teach him to freak out the men with guns even more than they’re already scared of a 15-year-old kid.
Fucking idiot douchebags.

P.S. Yeah, I know. They’re only “doing their job,” right? Two comments: (1) Bullshit. (2) Get another job.

Re: 15-year-old Boy Arrested for Possession of Parsley
Were you there?
If I stopped a kid for acting suspiciously (and you don’t know if the officer was responding to a vandalism or graffitti complaint or burglary or anything else) and found a a bag of herbs I’d let the kid make the choice of arrest for himself.
If I was a cop I’d ask myself: Is the kid acting like an innocent kid just having some fun or is he being an arrogant prick to me? If I determine he is an apologetic innocent kid I’d let him go with the bag and a laugh and a smile. If he was cussing and swearing he’d get to see the inside of a jail cell.
Apparently form the article the kid is dope head at 15 - so I’m going to give the officer the benefit of the doubt.
Re: 15-year-old Boy Arrested for Possession of Parsley
It seems to me you’re making my point for me, that the kid was probably arrested because he annoyed the wrong person, not because he was actually doing anything dangerous. Because if he had actually, for example, threatened or attacked the police officer, he would have been arrested for that. Rather, he was arrested for “possession of a counterfeit controlled substance.” (That sounds like something George Orwell made up.)
See, in civilized society, if someone pisses me off, I can choose to disassociate from him (or not). But I can neither detain nor arrest him, no matter how much I dislike him or think he’s being a dickhead.

Re: 15-year-old Boy Arrested for Possession of Parsley
This morning at about 9am, I gave a bottle of water to a motorcycle cop who had someone pulled over in front of my house. I told him I appreciate what he does and he thanked me and said I didn’t have to do that.
How much do you want to bet that cop got a “smile and thanks” for the first and last time today and that 99% of the time he is dealing with fucking pricks who want to drive 60 or 70 MPH through the middle of rural residential 25 MPH zones?
We have four school bus stops on that corner and everyone in the nieghborhood has horses and walks their dogs and really could LIVE without being hit by some a-hole.
If it takes the descretion (SIC!) of a man to decide to enforce the law on some prick who might be psychotic enough to kill someone with a car or a gun. And that man choses to teach a lesson that parents have failed to teach - “be nice or be treated in kind” - then so be it. I’ve been pulled over for doing 50 in a 35. I asked the cop how to get him over to my neighborhood and he said he patroled that area and asked if I was the guy who had the drunk driver crash into my horse barn. I said yes and he apologized for giving me the ticket. I said, “I was speeding. It’s not a big deal.”
You said you want “rule of man” not “rule of law” - Well you have it. A man decides which laws to enforce. If you want all cops to enforce all laws then studies have shown that everyone who drives breaks about 20 traffic laws every day.
If you want to reduce the number of laws - good luck. We had ten laws that covered everything and now it’s all f’d up. they are called the ten commandments. I’m not a bible thumper but those ten work pretty well for all questions of right and wrong. Lori Drew missed a few of them. And Lori Drew is not innocent. She is culpable.
And not to go on and on….
Technicalities are technical - You are an engineer. What does “technical specifications” means? If the shoe fits on Lori Drew. Then she should be forced to wear it. There are no “Technicalities”. It’s either the law or legislation or it is not (meaning constitutional law and Federal, state , or local statutes, codes, etc.)
