We now know that the arresting officer in the Confidential Informant case was in fact Officer Travland. The reason he didn’t want his participation to be revealed during the Defendant’s trial is that his arrest report on the Confidential Informant case proves that evidence reported seized at the Confidential Informant arrest (specifically a zippered pouch) ended up in the Defendants property invoice three days after her arrest.

Weed as well as shrooms should be legal, sold in stores and taxed. Then take all the tax money and other money saved from not enforcing these laws and open more drug treatment centers. When people get caught with hardcore drugs instead of jail, make them go to treatment and maybe loss of licence. If everything was legal and sold at the store it would be hard to resist buying some hardcore shit every now and then. At the sametime we’re taking people who are nonviolent drug users and instead of helping them, we throw them in jail and they turn into real criminals after a few years. It amazes me that I can go to the store right now and legally buy a glock .40mm and bottle of tequila but if I want some weed I have to go to a drug dealer. I can tell you right now that me with a joint is FAR less dangerous to society than me with a gun and some hard liquor. I don’t own guns or drink hard liquor but I’m fucking sick and tired of these pigs busting my balls everytime my car smells like weed. I am a wartime army infantry veteran, I have no crimal record, and weed is the only drug a do. Why should I have to deal with drug dealrs, sneak around in the shadows? Weed keeps me creative, calm, relaxed, happy, and helps me sleep good. So I say fuck the police who choose to enforce these bullshit laws and fuck their “Tizzy.”

Hope Steffey a Woman Falsely Convicted

Sheriff Swanson has ALWAYS maintained that Steffey was ASKED & REFUSED to remove her cloths.
But here’s the BCI’s OWN REPORT that PROVES this is a LIE!
And then they try to explain away their first lie with another lie, about why it was done this way without asking Steffey to do it voluntarily.
They are trying to say that Steffey was resisting enough that EIGHT people couldn’t take the chance of ASKING her to remove her cloths, or EVEN TELL HER WHAT WAS GOING ON!!!
What a crock!!

I did NOT see any resisting in the video, I saw eight cops parading her to the cell, with her in cuffs.

In fact EVERY video I have seen she is in cuffs!
And the ONLY times I have seen her react to the cops is after they have assaulted her or in the process of stripping her naked.

But apparently catching the sheriff’s dept in a lie isn’t a big deal to our “independent” BCI investigator, Christy Palmer, who seems ready to accept ANY excuse the sheriff’s dept wants to use.

The report also goes on to say that they lowered Steffey in a slow controlled manner to the floor. Except that Steffey says she was thrown to the floor.
She also told her husband in a phone call that she thought the cops had broken her nose.
And she was treated by the nurse for the injury.
And in page 4 of this report Christy Palmer even states that Steffey reported that her nose was making “crunching noises”.

So I guess this is proof of a second LIE! (Or third)

And still Christy Palmer, the “independent investigator” doesn’t think twice about accepting the word of the cops over the VICTIMS in spite of proof.
BTW, Christy also references a video that she says “proves that she was lowered in a slow controlled manner to the floor”. As far as I know, THIS would have to be on the ’non-existent’ beginning of the strip video.
On May 5th when I asked about the “missing” video, I was told it would soon be released.
Now here again it looks as though it’s referenced…even though they NOW claim it does not exist.
Interesting. (I have filed a request for this video.)

This isn’t so much an investigation report as it is a smear campaign against Hope Steffey.

The cops can polish this turd as much as want, this STILL STINKS!

BTW I don’t know why they bothered to black out the names of Nurse Coren Lennon and the jail psychologist Thomas Anuszkiewicz, aren’t they PROUD of the work they do?

Thank you, I didn’t mean to sound harsh. I actually think that you are a very good author and have created very real and interesting characters. I also think that your point is an important one, just not as well fleshed out as it could have been. If you are writing a series, then these issues can be easily clarified in your follow up novel. I really do hope that you continue writing, you show a lot of promise.

Actually, since you brought me into it. The issue is that nowhere in your book did you enlighten anyone on any steps that the characters had taken prior to the current ones. It is not an issue of my not believing that these things occur every day through out the country, its that in the writing of your book you failed to enlighten the reader on the truely hopeless situation that the characters were in before they began taking these steps. You may say that “It’s a little known fact that” the cheif hates the feds, but that fact does your readers no good to state it afterward on a blog. Your book would have been far more effective had you actually shown the readers the things that you bring up in this post. As it currently reads to someone picking the book up off the shelf, these characters are reacting in a way that uneducated college students on a mission would react to things. You set the scene in a small town with a racist and bigoted sheriff who is abusing his power. Okay, I can buy that. Just as an FYI, the town I live in is on our third sheriff now because the other two were given the boot for political corruption. The thing is that there are powers above a small town sheriff that you never mentioned any of these people going to about the issue. In your mind they may have been way beyond that - but in your book you did not show it to the reader.

My review was on your book as a stand alone book, not as an addition to your blog, and not as a part of a series. Perhaps these issues will be addressed in your follow up book. I do believe that you have talent as a writer, I just think that as it stands, your arguments as made in the book don’t hold water.

That is absolutely the most despicable law I’ve ever heard. Books are SUCH an important part in‘ preserving history! And we’re just dumping it in the trash because some kid *might* die of lead poisoning, even though it’s never been documented!? What next? Will we have to throw out heirloom furniture because the wood *might* splinter and hurt a kid? Must we burn vintage fashion because the fabric *might* spontaneously unravel and choke the wearer? Appalling, disgusting, and deeply distressing.
